Robert E. Falligant is a trained Mediator and has served as a Mediator or Arbitrator in over 400 cases in the last 5 years and has a settlement rate it excess of 90%.
He received his education at Georgia Military College, Armstrong College, University of Georgia, University School of Law and was admitted to the Bar in June of 1966.
He is a former Assistant District Attorney for the Eastern Judicial District Circuit of Georgia and Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of Georgia and returned to private practice in 1973 handling both criminal and civil cases in all of the State Courts and United States District Courts in the Northern, Middle and Southern District as well as the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the Northern District of Florida.
He is currently a member of the Georgia Bar Association, Savannah Bar Association, past President of the Savannah Criminal Defense Lawyers, past President of the Federal Bar Association, formerly a member of the Savannah Plaintiffs Trial Lawyers and rated AV by Martindale Hubbell.
He has had full time judicial service as acting Probate Court Judge of Chatham County, Georgia, and served as a Superior Court judge from May of 2000 to October, 2000 on a full time basis when the Honorable Charles B. Mikeil was appointed to the Court of Appeals. Since May of 2000 he has been used on a regular basis as a judge in both the State Court of Chatham County and the Superior Court of the Eastern Judicial Circuit of Georgia and has presided over 150 jury trials, the majority of which were civil damage suits in both the State and Superior Courts of Chatham, Effingham and Ware Counties.
